Dadonov a UFA bargain

The Wings knew going into the UFA period that they needed help on the blue line, but that didn't stop GM Valle from making Dadonov his #1 priority going into the UFA process. That is just what the Wings did locking up Dadonov for 3 years at $3.5M a season. The Wings already loaded with an arsenal at the forward position might have just added another gem to that group.

Dadonov said " Mr Valle came to me right away and said you are our #1 choice and showed that he wanted me in Detroit and gave me a chance to come in and prove myself by locking me up to a 3 year deal, it was an easy choice not to mention I have a few close friends on the team in Tarasenko and Kucherov".

Dadonov has risen to the the chance, so far in this early part of the NHL season he has posted 7 goals and 9 assists for 16 points in 16 games. When you think about what some other players went for in UFA, GM Valle has to be proud of his #1 target so far.
