Vegas Mock 2017-06-26 I sat down with a pen and paper and jotted down a little mock draft for our expansion franchise the Vegas Golden Knights. It is not something as simple as writing down the best available players name on your sheet of paper. There were certain criteria that had to be met including a minimum of players per position, a minimum salary that must be drafted as well as having a minimum amount of players already under contract. Also to keep in mind that at the begining of the 2017/18 season your roster has to be trimmed down to 23 players with regular NHL waiver rules applying. Once again this limits players that are chosen as you are chosing 30 players and have to trim your roster to 23 therefore sending players to the minor potentially passing through waivers. Making this much harder then it actually looks, especially without the computer keeping a tally of all your picks and information Clearly I don't know any trades that anyone has made with Vegas other then the deal in place with Calgary so obviously this is not going to be entirely correct.
